My Teaching Philosophy
I started practicing yoga as a student at UW to relieve stress. I completed my master’s degree in Women Studies and ventured out into the tech industry where I have been fortunate to serve a number of clients over the past decade. Yoga has remained a hobby and lifestyle for me; it allows me to connect to myself, and calm my body and mind. When I am not at work or practicing yoga, I enjoy traveling and connecting with people in the international community. Currently, I serve on the Board of Trustees for FIUTS, an organization that creates an international community in the Puget Sound Area.
Everyone can benefit from yoga:
My passion is to make yoga accessible so that more people can enjoy the benefits.
The Top 3 most common reasons people don’t practice yoga:
I don’t have time: With my job and family- I can’t carve out an extra 1.5 hours for visiting a Yoga Studio.
I am new to Yoga and I am not flexible. I am feeling intimidated. Will I fit in?
I don’t have a mat. I can’t do yoga without a mat (or leggings!).
How I can help
Instead of having to drive to a studio before or after work, my approach is to bring yoga to work and by offering 30-minute sessions.
I invite everyone to participate in my class as they are, no special clothing or equipment or prior experience is needed. I offer Chair Yoga where participants sit on their chair or hold on to it for support. It trains all major muscle groups and makes the benefits of yoga super accessible. It’s our most popular program – no mats, special clothes or prior experience needed.
