Why Accessible Yoga?

Most people spend the most time of their day working on meeting expectations. Accessible Yoga is about returning ownership of our selves to us. While the teacher is guiding the student through the session, Accessible Yoga aims at respecting individual needs and creating an environment of inclusion.

What is an Accessible Yoga Class?

By utilizing the Bus stop teaching method all students are empowered to decide how far they want to move along in the progression of a pose and they can decide which place feels most comfortable for them and serves their specific need on any given day. Rather than not feeling strong or fit enough to hold a pose students are taking ownership of their own needs. Simple techniques such as dissecting a pose and exploring the benefits of the pose allows to break the pose down to an individual. The use of props is essential since all bodies have different proportions and shapes. Props help to find a comfortable and supported seat.

Chair Yoga

Ideal for people who spend most their day in a seated position (desk or car). Chair yoga can be done without a yoga mat. Curious to see what Dancer’s pose looks and feels like in a chair? Do you like Sun Salutations but are experiencing limited mobility on your lower limbs? The benefits of Chair Yoga are super accessible and can make a big difference in your daily well-being.

Accessible Yoga Teacher Promise

As an Accessible Yoga Teacher, I affirm the light of each individual who crosses my path and I aspire to share the yoga teachings with all who seek them. I will strive to make the practices of Yoga accessible to all of my students regardless of their ability or background and to serve with love and compassion.

These are my Testimonials from Individuals

Splitting up an intense workday couldn’t have been done in a better way than with a lunchtime yoga taught by Elisabeth. From the moment the yoga mat is unrolled, there is a calm feeling switching away from your mind from daily work tasks.
Not only Elisabeth is very knowledgeable in yoga craft, but she also understands the intricacies of modern mostly sitting office jobs and caters her yoga lesson to deal with that. Another example of her expertise is that she is providing multiple alternative options for yoga poses so that students with various skill levels can follow. Even though the lesson is fairly short, designed to fit during lunch hour, it gives a fully refreshed feeling and thus helps yogis to continue work effectively for the rest of the afternoon.
